Album of last two weeks

I’ve been listening to the Mountain Goats album “The Sunset Tree.” Here’s a link to the video of one of my favorite songs on the album. I didn’t link the Youtube version, although there are plenty there, because the quality is so poor. This one is much sharper.

I first heard this song on Sirius and remember taking note of it, but forgetting later what it was. So it was nice to find it again. On the whole, his voice is very present, and I would imagine it might be irritating to some.It really grew on me though. Check it out.

The play was the 13th unassisted triple play in Major League history, with 12 in the regular season and one in the 1920 World Series. The last unassisted triple play was completed by the Braves’ Rafael Furcal on Aug. 10, 2003.

I have a subscription to eMusic and I get 40 downloads a month. That’s great but sometimes I get behind and don’t use all of my downloads for the month, and they don’t roll over. So I’m going to try downloading a new album every Sunday and really focusing on it for the week. Last week I picked Fela Kuti “The Best of the Black President.” It’s actually a double album, but most of the songs are 10 minutes. Very, very good afro-funk. HIghly recommended.
